Secret Maps
A sound art experiment using guitars, microphones, tape players and found/acquired recordings through a delay pedal set on an infinite loop setting. The idea is that the creator of the sound is traveling through a space and time leaving behind a trail, or map, that the audience can follow. However, with the repetition of sounds they are able to interpret and create their own journey and venture off the map into wherever the sound takes them. Each performance is improvised, sometimes with a specific theme or title in mind beforehand. One cassette tape was recorded in 2004,hand packaged with construction paper and fabric. Live performances include:
“This isn’t working.” Performed at a benefit for Portland Free School. Portland, OR, May 2006.
Performance at Cathartic Records. Providence, RI, June 2005
